Saint Ignatious College offers a full range of accredited agriculture programmes designed to prepare students for employment, farming entrepreneurship, and further agricultural qualifications. Our courses combine theory, hands-on practical training, and workplace exposure to ensure that every learner can confidently work on farms, agricultural projects, and livestock facilities.
Below are all our Agriculture and Animal Care qualifications.
Mixed Farming Systems Level 2 introduces students to farms that produce both crops and livestock. This qualification teaches you how to carry out daily farm activities, manage land, and care for animals and plants on a mixed farm.
Plant Production Level 3 focuses on crop science and the advanced skills required for commercial crop farming. Learners are trained to work independently in planting, managing, and protecting crops.
Animal Production Level 3 trains students to work with livestock such as cattle, goats, sheep and pigs. This course focuses on animal health, feeding, breeding and farm management practices.
Poultry Production Level 3 prepares students for careers in chicken broiler farms, laying farms, hatcheries, and poultry processing operations. Learners gain practical experience handling birds and managing poultry houses.
Farming Level 2 is an introductory agriculture qualification that teaches the basics of crop and animal farming. This course is ideal for beginners and those who want foundational farming skills.
All agriculture qualifications are aligned with SAQA and QCTO standards and prepare learners for national and provincial agricultural employment opportunities.
